Wide Technological Understanding
Dr. Ronit Buller focuses on strategic intellectual property counseling in a wide range of technical fields. Her legal expertise includes patent strategy, patent prosecution, and patent due diligence including freedom-to-operate analyses, e.g., for financings, mergers and acquisitions, and public offerings.
Dr. Buller has prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in the United States and other jurisdictions, including Europe, China, Japan, S. Korea, Canada and Australia. She provides legal counseling to companies at various stages of growth, from pre-financing start-ups to public companies, and has serviced companies in growing their intellectual property portfolios through these stages also as an in-house counsel.
Prior to establishing this firm, Dr. Buller worked as an in-house counsel concerning metal 3D printers, and building automation - including controlled IoT device networks, e.g., using artificial intelligence.
Dr. Ronit Buller developed Velo3D's IP portfolio from its first patent asset. This IP portfolio received the following assessment from SmarTech industry analysts: “Velo3D and Desktop Metal have impressive patent portfolios. Some of the most impressive patent portfolios are held by smaller firms. Velo3D is currently the top assignee of patents for 3D printing metals,” a technological field in existence for more than 40 years merging material science, physics, software, mechanical engineering, sensors, and control systems, e.g., robotics.
During Dr. Buller's Ph.D. centering on organized semiconductor nanoparticles, as a side project, she unraveled the binding site of antimalarial drugs, which was an enigma for half a century.
